Wood species / trade name: Ash burl / White ash burl
Ash burl - Real wood veneer from Schorn & Groh
Botanical name: Fraxinus excelsior
Ash burl
Character / Color
Because neither the burls arrayed in groups nor the wavy annual rings are prominent, the observer is presented with a beautifully delicate pattern reminiscent of fine marble. The mellow atmosphere created by the wood is emphasized by the pale beige-yellow tones of the veneer. Small to medium knots are often seen. Pure burls are rare in this variety; they are more often seen in ash cluster or olive ash burl.
