Beech smoked

Character / Color

The beech (Fagus sylvatica) is a deciduous tree native to large parts of Europe and can reach growth heights of up to 30 m, in dense forests also up to 45 m. Light-coloured and structurally very homogeneous, evenly plain wood with a hard and dense surface.
Smoked beech is beech wood modified in colour. During smoking, the wood is gassed with ammonia or ammonia spirit (ammonia water). It discolours and gets a brown to dark brown colour.
