Black poplar
Character / Color
Everyone knows the poplar, whose unusual shape often graces tree-lined parkways. Its light-colored wood, on the other hand, is rather inconspicuous and can blend into almost any decor. The narrow zones of late growth produce a quiet figure or stripes. Colors range from grayish white to delicate light brown with a light greenish shimmer at the core.
Wood species / trade name: Black poplar / Lombardy Poplar, Mappa, Big tooth Aspen, Black cottonwood
Botanical name: Populus tremula
