Bolivian Cedar
Character / Color
CThe Bolivian cedar is a plant species in the mahogany family (Meliaceae) and reaches growth heights of about 18m without branches, with diameters of up to 1m. The sapwood is light grey or reddish grey and about 3 to 5cm wide. The heartwood is pale yellowish brown to reddish brown and darkens under the influence of light. The structure of the pores is mainly coarse and scattered. Because of the good processing possibilities, the wood is often used as a substitute for mahogany.
