The aspen is widespread in Western Asia, North Africa and Europe. It is the most widespread poplar species in Europe and the most common in Central Europe. Depending on where it is found, the aspen tree usually grows to a height of 20m, rarely up to 35m. The wood has a whitish to white-yellow color. The wood darkens strongly with the increase in oxygen. The appearance of the wood is homogeneous and not very decorative.
