Fir
Character / Color
The non-resinous fir has found fame as the Christmas tree with soft and delicate needles and as the source of a very versatile light and plain wood. The veneer figure of the fir, which is yellowish white with an occasional light blue shimmer, creates a cheerful and light-filled atmosphere. As in the spruce, the accent is on the annual rings which, with their dark late growth, stand out as figures or stripes.
Wood species / trade name: Fir / Silver fir
Botanical name: Abies alba
