Character / Color

Spread all over India and preferably in Burma and Ceylon. The tree of Laurel reaches heights of 35m and diameters of 1m at favourable locations. The sapwood is grey to light olive, also grey-brown, the heartwood initially yellowish-brown, later darkening with walnut-coloured light. Occasionally with darker, nearly black streaks.
