Limba
Character / Color
The veneer figure of this lustrous, matte and close-grained wood is created by its interlocked fibers and other fiber deviations which produce irregular striped and wavy patterns. Pale olive-green late growth and a higher density of fibers clearly mark the growth zones. The tangential reveals a jagged and fine figure and the large, scattered pores look like deep cracks here. The lively texture of the yellowish brown to straw-colored wood sometimes resembles a field of amber waves of grain.
Wood species / trade name: Limba / Frake, Afara
