Character / Color
The hardwood Sen comes from non-tropical forests in East Asia and is used as decorative veneer or solid wood such as ash, elm or light oak due to its light and structured wood appearance. Knot-free lengths often around 12 m and with diameters around 0.7 to 0.8 m. Sapwood 4 to 6 cm wide, almost white to milky; susceptible to discoloration. Heartwood light yellowish-grey to pale brownish and with a matt sheen. The darkening is slight and leads to only a slight tanning.
