Utile - Real wood veneer from Schorn & Groh

In utile, the charming reddish brown color of the heartwood takes on a characteristic violet-brown hue. The figure or stripe in utile is less uniform and therefore more turbulent than the similar sapele. The variations in the lustrous stripes on the radial surface add interesting depth to the veneer figure.
