The tree is common in eastern North America and Europe. The log can be up to 50m high with a diameter of up to 1.5m. The cream to straw-yellow core wood is surrounded by an almost white sapwood. The light, bright wood is fine-grained. Weymouth Kiefer is easy to work with, but difficult to glue and stain. The wood has a high resin content.
