Fireland cherry is widespread in South America, i.e. in Chile and parts of Argentina. The wood is generally decorative, with numerous fine and sprinkled pores. The core wood is pink to pink-brown and can be clearly distinguished from the light sapwood. The structure is slightly wavy and striped with inconspicuous rays of marrow. It is mainly used as veneer wood for interior finishing and especially as furniture wood.
